Diva, Jennifer Jones hails from Cape Town South Africa. Her
illustrious career history includes accolades few can lay
claim to. She captured a world wide television audience
with her appearances in the MISS WORLD PAGEANT
1995 at the Sun City Superbowl. The same year saw her
again performing to a world wide audience when she sang the
theme song for the
RUGBY
WORLD CUP 95,
‘Where the world began’ during the opening and
closing ceremonies.
Her
remarkable triumph against the odds lead to her life story
being captured in JUVENIS, a 52 minute documentary
shown globally as the core of the youth component of the
United Nations 50th anniversary celebrations.
The world
once again saw her incredible talent when she sang the
constitution song ‘One Law for One Nation’ in
a live global telecast from the Houses of Parliament in
1996.
Jennifer
was the support act for both TINA TURNER’S 1996 World
Tour and MICHAEL JACKSON’S HISTORY TOUR 1997 in
South Africa.
She became
the first South African artist to be signed by Sony Music
SA. She recorded her debut album ‘SLOW DOWN’
in 1996 and the album was released to great critical acclaim
in 1997. 1997 also saw Jennifer perform OLYMPIC FEVER
to a world wide television audience as part of the South
African Olympic bid for 2004. She also appeared as a
presenter at the FNB SAMA Awards in the same year.
In 1999 Jennifer won the KORA
Award for “Most Promising Female Artist”. Her television
appearances in the same year included the NNTV Awards live
television performance of “High Heels and Hisses”, produced
by The Baroness and Felicia Mabusa Suttle’s “Live Diva’s
Show” that for the first time saw Jennifer performing with
her mother, Marloe Scott Wilson. She was released from her
contractual obligations from Sony in 1999.
