The Resident Coordinator of the United Nations
ensures the UN system’s consistent and effective
contribution to the development priorities and strategies
of Lesotho, as well as taking a lead in ensuring a
coordinated complimentary contribution from the UN
system’s various parts.
The Resident Coordinator assumes, on behalf of the UN
system, and in consultation with the other Representatives
of the UN agencies, an overall responsibility for, and
coordination of, the system’s operational activities
carried out at the country level.
The UNDP Resident Representative in Lesotho has been
appointed by the Secretary General Kofi Annan, as UN
Resident Coordinator, helping to orchestrate the full
intellectual and technical resources of the UN system in
support of national development.
